1685-1/7/107 (West side)
16/05/85 No.21
GV II
House, now offices. Early C19, altered late C19 and C20.
Sandstone ashlar to Dalton Square, but coursed dressed
sandstone to Gage Street, with ashlar dressings. Hipped slate
roofs. Narrow rectangular plan on the corner of Gage Street,
where the original entrance appears to have been.
3 storeys above a cellar with an eaves cornice overall. The
ground floor on both frontages has been altered recently by
the insertion of a shop front, with the entrance on the
corner, and a doorway leading to a stair to the upper floors
on the left-hand side of the elevation to Dalton Square. All
the windows have plain reveals; those to the one bay facing
the Square have altered joinery, while those to Gage Street
have raised surrounds and altered joinery. The central windows
on each floor of the Gage Street elevation are formed from the
partly-blocked stair-window. Included for group value.
