GV II

Terraced houses. c.1845. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond,
stucco, roof obscured by parapet. Three storeys over basement,
two windows each. Nos 44-47 project slightly. Basement and
ground floor stuccoed, the ground floor decorated with banded
rustication. Round-arched entrance with pilaster jambs (the
detail almost obliterated on nos 42-43), cornice and fanlight;
panelled doors of original design to nos 44, 46-47. Ground
floor windows round-arched, upper windows flat-arched with
gauged brick heads, iron balconies to first floor. Sashes of
original design to nos 42-44, 46 (ground and first floors), 47
and 48. Stucco cornice and blocking course to nos 42-43,
lacking on the rest. Upper storeys of nos 48-49 much rebuilt.
Cast-iron railings to area. Included for group value.
