Archway. Probably C14. Sandstone. Pointed arch with two orders of sunk quadrant mouldings and with hood mould, surrounded by late C20 stone work. This archway was formerly on this site as the entrance to old Poulton Hall and was removed to the Morecambe Town Hall in 1932. It was returned to its original position in 1997. Poulton Hall, the Manor House of Poulton le Sands, was owned in part in the 15th and 16th centuries by President George Washington's direct paternal ancestors, whose main residence was at Warton.
