Farmhouse, now 2 units, and attached cart shed and cow house.
c1600 with C18 additions and early C19 rebuilding; restored
1980s. Timber-framed range with brick additions to each end,
tile hanging to 1st floor of left end; brick farm buildings;
tile roofs with brick stacks. Lobby-entrance plan form, with
2-window additions; rear washhouse attached by short wall; 2
ranges of farm buildings forming cross of T-plan. 2 storeys;
3-window timber-framed range. Timber-framed range of close
studding with gable to left; C20 mullioned windows;
segmental-headed windows to left have small-paned iron
glazing; left end has C20 casements, return has jettied 1st
floor, casement windows; casement windows to right end;
central entrance has plank door; large central cross-axial
stack has diagonal shafts and later caps, cross-axial stack to
either side. Rear similar; timber framing extends further to
left; one remaining C16 five-light wooden-mullioned window;
2-storey gabled porch with cogged frieze over
elliptical-headed entrance; entrance to right has C20 timber
porch.
INTERIOR: timber-framed cross walls; stepped-stop-chamfered
beams; wide fireplace with moulded bressummer and brick fire
hood; stone fireplace with key, re-used C17 panelling and
4-panel door with H-L hinges to room to left. 1st floor has
carpenters' marks to collar trusses, some daub and wattle
infill. Subsidiary features: rear washhouse has deep pentice
to right return; end stack; interior has fireplace, oven and
copper. Cow house projects to right, C18 brickwork to left
return; higher end cross wing with ventilation holes and
windows; right return has 3 segmental-headed entrances and 4
windows; wing has entrance and window and attached gatepier;
interior has rear feeding passage and C20 partitions. Cart
shed to rear right has elliptical-headed through passage and 5
cart openings; varied windows and pitching holes; rear 1st
floor entrance up steps.
