Portal and tunnel. 1820. By John Nash. Red stock brick set in
English bond with gold stock brick and stone dressings.
Portal: elliptical opening with keystone, radiating rusticated
brick voussoir blocks and stone cheeks; flanked by brick
pilasters with stone bases and caps carrying remnants of brick
parapet. INTERIOR: of tunnel: barrel vaulted brick and lined
with plaster.
