House. Mid C19. Bath stone ashlar and Pennant rubble,
interlocking tile hipped roof and rendered stacks. L-shaped,
double-depth plan.
2 storeys; 3-window range. Central section slightly recessed,
plain frieze, cornice and parapet. Central Tuscan portico
raised on Pennant flags; late C19 large bay window to the left
with three 6/6-pane sashes, plain mullions and parapet;
right-hand ground-floor window in a recessed surround with a
small floating cornice on consoles; similar first-floor window
over the portico, with plain ones either side.
INTERIOR: central entrance hall with acanthus cornice, divided
by a flat arch, with the stair beyond to the left, with
cast-iron foliate banisters and a wreathed handrail and
curtail, and panelled shutters. Now part of Purdown Hospital.
