Early C18 range with later alterations, part of same building as No 5l. Formerly
the "Ring of Bells" Inn. Chequered brick with bands. Old tiled roof. 2 storeys
and attics; 3 later windows in moulded wood frames, 3 modest moulded wood doorcases,
2 coupled on eastern side. All original window recesses of lower storey blocked
and later sashes inserted. 3 gabled dormers with moulded bargeboards.
Nos 43 to 61 (odd), and the Old Grammar School and the pavement at the front
of the Old Grammar School form a group of the greatest importance.
