Terrace of 4 houses, Nos.30, 32 and 33 now offices. Mid C19;
slightly altered. Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone
dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan, each house
single-fronted and with a back extension. Two storeys over
cellars, 8 bays in total, with ashlar plinth, string-course,
plain frieze and moulded cornice with blocking course (all
carried round left end). Each house is 2 bays, with the
doorway in the 2nd bay, a doorcase of engaged Ionic columns
with a plain frieze and moulded cornice with blocking course,
a recessed panelled door with plain surround and rectangular
overlight; one window to the left and 2 above, all sashed
without glazing bars, with raised sills and sill-blocks, and
wedge lintels; and cellar area protected by ornamental
cast-iron railings on a stone plinth (except No.30, which has
C20 replacement railings). Roof hipped at left end; ridge
chimneys. The left return wall of No.30, 2 bays, has matching
fenestration except for coupled windows at ground floor of
rear bay.
INTERIOR: No.33 has moulded plaster cornice and large ceiling
rose in front room, and cellar with unusually complete set of
original fittings including 2 fireplaces, washing boiler,
slopstone, and stone table. (Continuing to the right in
similar style is No.34, q.v.)
