House. Mid C18. Brick; hipped slate roof; brick corner-stacks,
with C20 superstructure to right.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and cellar; 4-window range: early
C20 plain sashes in moulded cases, with central blocked light,
under flat arches; C20 restored coped parapet; 2 box dormers
with 2/2 sashes with cambered heads.
Central entrance: moulded 6-panel door with margin-glazed
overlight in panelled case with reeded architrave, under
moulded pediment with decorated frieze and consoles; flanked
by pairs of early C20 plain sashes, with etched and embossed
lower panes; storeyband overall.
To left, advanced wing with brick stack, brick coped gable
parapets, boarded eaves and returned storeyband; 2 plain
sashes with similar lower panes; to right returned side,
similar sash and blocked opening over, under segmental arches;
late C19, part-glazed panelled door and casement overlight,
behind late C19 wall, with moulded brick band and balustrade
with stone finials.
INTERIOR: open-well staircase, with moulded string and rail,
and barley sugar twist balusters; 2 painted glass lights;
plaster relief cornice. Attic: C18 balustrade with missing
balusters. 2nd floor: timber-framing visible; C19 tiled
fireplace with marble surround; 6-panel doors; 2-panel doors;
fireplace with marble surround. 1st floor: 6-panel doors;
2-panel doors; coving; C18 fireplaces; timber-framing visible;
front room: panelling with frieze, and moulded architrave,
chair rail and skirting, with C18 fire surround (front left,
watercloset and bathroom: late C19 cupboard and fireplace).
Ground floor: hall: 6-panel doors; bolection moulded
architraves; cornice and ceiling roses; shouldered arch with
enriched corbels. Left front: panelling; 2-panel door;
bolection moulded fire surround. Kitchen: early C20 dresser;
2-panel door; W.C. (one C19). Rear Hall: panelled dado. Rear
room: modillioned cornice and ceiling rose; C19 marble
fireplace; panelling. Right front: fireplace with marble
surround; plaster ceiling; cornice.
