GV II
Barn with byres forming the east side of the crew yard. Late
C18. Coursed squared gritstone with corrugated asbestos roof
and stone coped gables. One and two storeys. The west
elevation has a large cart entrance with segmental arch and a
pair of plank doors. To the left are alternately two doorways
and two windows, with stone lintels. To the right are three
doorways with segmental pointed arches and stone voussoirs.
Four tiers of breathers above and one later opening with stone
lintel. Further range to right, slightly set back, has two
doorways with stone lintels, each flanked on both sides by
windows with segmental pointed arches. Two similar windows
above and one similar above again. The road elevation has a
tall cart entrance to right and external stone stairs to left,
leading up to the loft doorway with segmental arch and stone
voussoirs. Six upper openings (now mostly blocked) with
segmental arches, stone voussoirs and quoins. Four tiers of
breathers. Interior said to contain large stone feeding
troughs.
