Shops and dwellings. Early C18 altered late C18 and C20. Red
brick in Flemish bond, C20 plain-tile roof, hipped to left,
and brick end stack to right. L-plan.
2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Building stands on corner
with Castle Street. Principal elevation facing West Street has
C20 doors to left and right of centre, that to right with
overlight and sash, with straight hoods on curved brackets.
Canted bay window to right has tripartite composition of
central round arch-headed sash with intersecting glazing bars
to head flanked by pointed-arched lights and dentilled
cornice. Pair of canted bay shop windows to left. C20 door to
far left set diagonally under corner. 12-pane sash windows to
1st floor with flat-arched heads. Plinth, partly of limestone
rubble, storey band and boxed wood eaves. 4 hipped roof dormer
windows. 2-bay elevation to Castle Street has 12-pane sashes
to ground and 1st floor.
