Ice house. Probably early C19. Sandstone. Built subterraneously in raised
ground at edge of steep slope. Approached by plain doorway in retaining wall
of slope, leading into L-shaped vaulted passage, at the inner end of which a
semi-circular-arched doorway (with remains of protective iron gate) opens into
the upper part of a very large egg-shaped vessel (said to be 20ft. high).
