Large town house. Late C18. Bath stone ashlar with mid-floor
strings; rusticated quoins; flat keyed arches and granite
plinth, slatehanging to returns; dry slate roof behind
parapet; brick end stacks. Double-depth plan. Late Georgian
style. 3 storeys plus attic over basement. Symmetrical
3-window front with original hornless sashes with thin glazing
bars; central open-pedimented round-headed doorway (approached
by stone steps from left with C20 replica cast-iron
balustrade) with fluted half-columns with caps and entablature
and fanlight over 6-panel door with lozenge panels. INTERIOR:
has original staircase, some old chimneypieces; left-hand
front room with unusual late C19 multi-door grate; panelled
window shutters.
