Pair of houses. 1818-22. Brick with buff headers and stucco
dressings; slate roof with hipped end and brick end and
cross-axial stacks. Georgian style. 3 storeys; symmetrical
3-window range. Plain eaves. Round-headed entrance has
doorcase with reeded pilasters and open pediment, fanlight
with radial glazing bars over 6-fielded-panel door. Ground
floor has later C19 canted bay windows with consoled cornices;
upper floors have sills, and wedge lintels; all windows have
plate-glass horned sashes. Right return similar: entrance has
6-flush-panel door; all windows have wedge lintels over
12-pane sashes, but 1st-floor left window has sash as front
and 2nd floor has 6-pane sashes. Part of the early C19
development of the north part of Stratford, known as New Town.
