House, now flat and maisonette. Late C17/early C18 with later
alterations. Coursed squared limestone rubble with remains of
old limewash; stone slate roof; brick and rendered left- and
right-end stacks. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Five
6/6-pane sashes in chamfered stone surrounds with mullions and
transoms cut out to first floor; 3 similar windows to ground
floor. C19 four-panel door with upper 2 panels glazed in
timber architrave to centre right. Broad former doorway
opening in chamfered stone surround to left; now blocked and
with single-pane glazing in upper part. Moulded drip course
over ground floor and moulded coved timber eaves cornice. 3
gabled dormers with 2-light timber casements and C19
bargeboards and finials. Rear elevation has 2 small gables
with 2-light chamfered stone-mullion windows; large lateral
stack and C19 lean-to extension. INTERIOR has two C19
fireplaces to ground floor (No.2), boxed-out beams to 2 front
and rear right rooms; late C17/early C18 fireplace to first
floor front left (No.2A), rough unmoulded timber beams to
first floor. Late C17/early C18 dog-leg staircase with splat
balusters. Nos 2 and 2A Cecily Hill face onto Thomas Street.
