1858-9. Gothic style lodge cottages separated by short walls and gateway (qv),
and forming large lay-by off road. T-plan 1 1/2 storey lodges, with pierced bargeboards
and weathervanes no gables and zoomorphic corbels at corners of eaves. Ashlar
built. Slate roof with horizontal bands of fishscale slates. 4 light bays to
road, 3 light windows to courtyard; mullion and transom casement windows with
shouldered heads. Shouldered doorways to courtyard. Eastern lodge has a small
ornamental drinking fountain to the east.
