Formerly known as Morley's Cottage. Cross-passage and domestic end of
longhouse; now cottage. Probably early C17, raised later; C20 alteration
and extension. Cruck-framed, encased in coursed rubble stone with pantile
roof and rebuilt stacks. 2 storeys, 2 irregular bays, the right obscured by
separate building projecting forwards; and left half-bay with entrance
passage. Quoined doorway with renewed lintel and C20 door at left. 2-light
casement with painted timber lintel in enlarged fire window, to right.
Further right a 3-light chamfered-mullion window. First-floor window is a
2-light, horizontal-sliding sash with diamond leaded lights. Stack to right
of door. Rear: original cross-passage door now blocked by C20 window. In
the centre is a square chamfered window marked "DAIRY". Interior: C18 plank
and batten door leads from cross-passage into house. Backing on to cross-
passage is late C18 stone fireplace with a segmental arch cut in low relief
from a corbelled-out monolith lintel. Joists throughout ground floor are
chamfered and stopped, and laid flat. In the left room the spine beam is
chamfered.
