House, now flats. Dated 1838. Designed and built by Samuel
Stead, mason-builder. Brick; hipped Welsh slate roof; brick
lateral stacks. 4 storeys and cellar; 2-window range: 6/6
sashes under grooved stucco lintels, to 1st and 2nd floors;
3/3 sashes over, with lintels inscribed SS 1838; moulded wood
eaves. Entrance to left: 2-leaf 12-panel door with overlight,
recessed in panelled case, under moulded stone hood on
columns; early C20, 8/8 sash under grooved stucco lintel, over
grated cellar window. Right returned side has tall,
round-headed wood staircase light, under segmental arch. Rear
elevation: crosswing; hipped roof; rubble with brick quoined
openings; 6/6 sashes under rendered lintels to 1st and 2nd
floors; 3/3 sash under gauged brick flat arch, to 3rd floor.
Right gable end of wing has timber-frame and brick infill;
2-light windows with leaded lights, to 2nd and 3rd floors.
