Entrance lodge to Red Maids School

Cottage. c1830. Pennant rubble with limestone dressings and
stack, and a slate hipped roof. Single-depth plan. Cottage
ornee style. 2 storeys; 2-window range. Canted end has a
central pointed door with Y-framed door, and ground-floor
windows either side with 3 lattice-leaded lights with ogee
trefoil heads and a label with quatrefoil panel stops; a full
width verandah on paired timber stanchions, with a door into
the right-hand lean-to with a plain surround; first-floor
eaves dormers, on brackets, as the ground-floor windows, with
cusped ashlar tympana, and bracketed overhanging eaves.
