House, now offices. c1770. Largely refronted 1896 by WL Craik.
Limestone ashlar and stucco, roof not visible. Double-depth
plan. 3 storeys; 3-window range. A symmetrical front has a C19
ground-floor shop front, articulated by fluted attached
columns on pedestals, square with small relief grotesque masks
to the left-hand doorway and right-hand end, and Ionic columns
between, with C20 green marble stall riser and heavy panelled
double doors. Stuccoed pilasters above with fluted necks and
moulded caps, entablature and parapet. Windows have
architraves with panels set in the lintels, raised cornices to
the first floor, flat aprons on the second, with pilaster
jambs to the middle first-floor window and incised key
shoulders the central second-floor window. Plate-glass sashes.
INTERIOR: largely remodelled mid C20.
