Terrace of 4 houses. c1845. Brick with ashlar dressings; slate
roof with brick stacks. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys; 8-window
range. 1st floor sill band; top frieze and cornice; coped
gables with kneelers. Ground floor has canted bay windows with
cornices and later horned sashes with small-paned upper
sashes; windows to 1st and 2nd floor have panelled wedge
lintels, over 12-pane horned sashes to 1st floor, 9-pane
horned sashes to 2nd floor. Paired round-headed entrances have
plaster pilasters, keystones and 4-panel doors and fanlights;
entry to centre at basement level. 3 cross-axial stacks.
Ashlar plaque with name to 1st floor centre. INTERIOR: No 43
has stick-baluster staircase with wreathed handrail. An
example of mid C19 suburban development in Wolverhampton.
