Terrace of 5 shops and offices. c1880. Brick with ashlar and
polished granite dressings; tile roof with brick stacks. 4
storeys; 7-window range. Vernacular Revival and Jacobean
style. Ground floor has C20 shop fronts inserted between
banded granite piers with cornice over; drip course over most
of 2nd floor; top coped parapet and 3 gables. Five 2-storey
canted oriels to 1st and 2nd floors, the 1st 2 joined by
segmental arch, all with parapets, but central oriel has part
carried up as turret and part with swept copper roof;
double-chamfered-mullioned windows with transoms and upper
lights with leaded glazing, those to 1st floor have 2 transoms
and some double-width lights; 3rd floor has 6-light mullioned
window and six C20 casement windows with plain lintels. Banded
stacks with diagonal shafts. Entrance to upper floors has
Tudor head and cross-mullioned overlight with cusping. Built
as part of the redevelopment of Lichfield St in 1880s.
