House, now 2 dwellings, and attached outbuilding. Early C19
with earlier parts; large early C20 extension. Brick with
ashlar dressings; hipped slate roof and later tile roofs;
brick stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range
with gabled wing to right. Ground floor has canted bay window
with swept lead roof and small-paned glazing to round-headed
windows; 1st floor has windows with wedge lintels over 12-pane
sashes; entrance to right end has porch with swept roof on
Doric columns; glazed door and sidelights; end stacks;
entrance in later block to right has overlight. Gabled wing
has C17 work to ground floor with C20 1st floor; blocked
elliptical-headed entrance and oval datestone with
inscription: WS/ 1683; 1st floor leaded casement. Left return
has bow window with small-paned casements and 3 sashed windows
to 1st floor; entrance to left has segmental hood on large
brackets and glazed door; 4-window extension to left has 2
projecting 3-light windows with embattled parapets; 1st floor
leaded casements; gable-end stacks with diagonal shafts;
single-storey summerhouse with French windows.
INTERIOR has some C19 fireplaces and re-used panelling.
Subsidiary features: outbuilding projects from rear to right:
some ashlar to right end and plastered gable with dovecote
openings and weathervane.
