Public house, now house. c1800, raised and altered in late
C19. Coursed squared stone, with timber doorcase; rebuilt
brick end stacks to renewed pantile roof. 2 storeys and attic;
2-window front. Passage entrance arch with painted wedge
lintel at left end. Doorcase of sunk-panel pilasters with
moulded imposts and cornice; recessed panelled double doors
beneath overlight. Tripartite window to left with 4-pane
centre sash, and 4-pane sash to right; 2 similar windows on
first floor, with third blocked window over passage arch. All
windows have painted stone sills and painted wedge lintels. 2
gabled dormers with squat 4-pane sashes inserted in attic.
House was known as the Queen's Head and the Spread Eagle,
between 1800-1939.
