Fountain. 1865. Stone and polished granite. Large stone basin
with central shaft. Shaft has circular stone base then central
shaft and 4 outer columns, all in polished granite with
foliate capitals, carrying shallow basin. This feature is
repeated in a smaller scale to carry an upper basin, from the
centre of which a figure carrying a dolphin emerges from
reeds. Inscription on lower basin records that the fountain
was presented by Joseph Radcliffe, major of Oldham, in 1865.
