II
Row of 4 cottages, later C18 - early C19, built in 3 phases.
Roughly coursed and squared stone, with Welsh slate roofs.
2-3 storeys, with basement storey below western gable.
Original building comprises 2 cottages, each a deep
single-unit, double-depth plan, with doorways to right.
Left-hand unit (1) has 3-light mullioned window to ground
floor, 6-light mullioned window above, some of the lights now
blocked, and 4-lights to upper storey.
Right-hand unit (3) has mullioned windows originally of 4 and
6 lights, but some now blocked. All mullions square cut, in
plain stone architraves. Each cottage has end wall stacks,
with additional stack on rebuilt western gable of No.1.
This original building was extended by the addition of a
further single-unit double-depth plan cottage to the right
(No.5), in front of which was also added another single-unit
cottage (No.7).
Entrance to the third unit against gable wall of original
building with new window over.
Windows renewed in original openings in gable of No.7, which
has doorway to left, and renewed window alongside in its front
wall.
North elevation follows similar configuration, with doorways
and windows renewed, probably in original openings.
