SD50SW SANDBROOK ROAD, Tontine
783-1/4/126 Bridge over railway

GV II

Public road bridge over railway. c1846-8. For the Liverpool
and Bury Railway Company. Engineers James and William Thomson.
Sandstone ashlar. Segmental arch with imposts carried through,
broad flanking pilasters, moulded band, and parapet of large
blocks with ridged coping. Forms group with east portal of Up
Holland Tunnel approximately 250 metres west (qv).
