Pair of houses. Dated 1826. Ashlar with plinth and rusticated
quoins. Slate roof with stone gable copings and chimneys. 2
storeys; 5-window range. 6-panel doors and overlight, that to
No.42 with patterned glazing bars, in second and fourth bays
in surrounds of pilasters and entablature. Projecting stone
surrounds to 16-pane sashes and to blocked window over door of
No.44. Low-pitched roof has prominenet moulded kneelers, and
ridge chimneys at left and centre with plinths and top bands.
Elliptical date stone with well-cut inscription `W & M A 1826'
below central first-floor window. INTERIOR: not inspected.
