Initialled and dated "IMD1677", extended and altered mid C18. Coursed
rubble, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 2-cell house
originally. 1st cell (No 2) has double-chamfered mullioned windows
with almost square reveals: 2-light fire-window, 6-light window with
king mullion to housebody; doorway with composite jambs, chamfered
surround and dated lintel. 1st floor has 2-light and 3-light windows.
2nd cell has wood and glass mid-C20 porch obscuring inserted C18
doorway to left of 2-light flat-faced mullioned window with same above
with slightly recessed mullion. Added cell to west (No 6) has single-
light window to each floor with dressed lintels and sills. Doorway for
No 6 at rear has monolithic jambs and similar windows to front. Coped
gables with kneelers and stacks, one other stack to ridge.
Interior: Housebody has scarf-jointed spine beam, evidence of former
bressumer and firehood; there is also a corresponding break in the
ridge. Stop-chamfered floor-joists. Unusual queen-post truss with
cambered collar from which rises short king post with convex brace
to ridge.
