Railway station. Dated 1885. Coursed, dressed millstone grit. Wide entrance
front with doorways masked by canopy. Right return has datestone in gable. The 2
westernmost platforms have period furnishings including: cast-iron lamp posts; on
the westernmost platform a good cast -iron and glass canopy with decorative
columns; on the other platform an 8-columned arcade, the remains of a canopy, and
a late Cl9 engine water-filling pump (brought here a few years ago from elsewhere
in Yorkshire). Other platforms not of special interest.
