House. Late C16/early C17, substantially enlarged and altered
1906 (formerly a farmhouse). 3 intersecting wings at right
angles forming U shape plan. Timber framed and plastered,
colourwashed brick facade to south, plaintiled roof. 2 storeys
and attic. Symmetrical facade to south with flanking gables: 4
window range, 1:2:1, early C20 3-light casements with leaded
glass, flat brick arches, one central hipped dormer; doorway with
boarded door and wide lean-to porch on timber columns, carved
fascia boards; on the left hand gable the iron letters 'C' and
'M'. East wing with some C18 casement windows and a good plank
entrance door; west wing added 1906, with applied half timbering
to the first floor and 2 projecting first floor windows with
dormers rising above. The entrance hall has an early C20
staircase with slatted balusters and some original panel ling.
