House, formerly rectory. C16 or C17 largely rebuilt in the C18. Timber
framed with colourwashed render and a plaintiled roof. Two storeys and
attic. Entrance front: 2 slightly projecting wings at right and left, the
one at right having 2-light casements to the ground, first and attic
floors. The left hand wing is similar save that the ground floor has
French windows. Overlapping the ground floor level of the right wing and
the central range is a lean-to porch which has a 4-centred doorway at right
and a window of 2x3 panes at left. To the left of this at ground floor
level is a 2-light window and a painted arched window with Y-tracery. To
the first floor are two 2-light casements. To the ridge at left of centre
is a massive chimney stack with rectangular base and sawtoothed flues. To
the right hand gable end is a cross-axial C19 or C20 stack which imitates
the form of the axial stack. Right hand gable end: to the ground floor are
a 2 light and a single-light window. Left hand gable end: C20 lean-to
glass conservatory at ground floor level with a door at left and a 2-light
C20 attic window. Rear: at left of centre is a projecting C19 wing with a
lean-to roof. This has a plank door at ground floor level at left and a
single-light window at right. Further single-light window to the first
floor. To the ground floor at left of this is a 4-light casement with a 2-
light first floor window above it. To right at ground floor level is one
sash window of 3x3 panes and a 2-light window to far right. The first
floor has a 3-light and a 2-light window above this.
Interior: Large, heavily moulded beam to one ground floor room.
