House, formerly rectory. Mid C17 with extensions of early and late C19. C17
range: 2 storeys and attics. 3-cell plan, formerly with lobby-entrance.
Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof with axial C17 chimney of red
brick; one early C19 dormer, with cusped bargeboards and spike finial. Small-
pane sashes of early/mid C19. Panelled entrance door, partly glazed with
small panes; fluted architrave. Early C19 range: 2 storeys, 5 windows. Red
brick. Slated roof. Windows with flat arches of gauged brick; small-pane
sashes. Further later C19 ranges to rear. The C17 range has plain framing
with close studding; butt purlin roof probably a C18 rebuilding. One parlour
has complete mid C18 joinery, with large full height panels, fireplace and
doors. The house stands within a medieval moat.
