Pair of houses, C16 or earlier, altered c1900 probably by H.
Brakspear. Rubble stone with some timber-framing. Bridgwater tile
roof and c1900 red brick and ashlar stacks to centre ridge and one
dormer gable. l½ storeys. Two dormer gables each with c1700 cyma-
moulded 2-light recessed mullion window and dripstone. Gable
coping and left gable stack remodelled c1900. Ground floor of each
house has centre door with mullion window each side. No 23 has C16
Tudor-arched door, C16 three-light window with Tudor-arched lights
to right and 2-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window with
hoodmould to left. No 24 has c1900 door with cornice and c1900
three-light windows with hoodmoulds. East end of No 23 has
original framing in gable and c1900 three-light each floor. A
stone slated rear wing to East Street has upper casement and ground
floor renewed 3-light and door with hoodmoulds. West end of No 24
is of c1900. Interior not inspected.
