Range of ridge and furrow glasshouses. Circa 1846, probably by Sir Joseph
Paxton for Sir Morton Peto. Cast iron frame, in lean-to form on a brick
plinth. 22 bays wide plus a central 2-bay entrance. Forms part of a garden
included on the Register as of special historic interest. This range
terminates the vista through the north entrance of the kitchen garden (q.v.)
and is included for group value for this reason. The buildings attached to
the north (entrance turnstile, gift shop, etc.) are not included in the
listing. Forms part of a garden included in the HBMC County Register of
Gardens at Grade II.
