4/66 The Boot
II
House. C17. Timber framed with brick skin and pebbledashed and
colourwashed render with a plain tile roof. Two storeys. Three-cell
baffle-entry plan. Entrance front: at left of centre is a C20 gabled
single-storey porch with a door of 6 raised and fielded panels. To left
and right of this are 3-light C20 casement windows with metal frames and to
the far right is a further C20 window to left of which is a blocked
doorway. To the first floor are three 2-light metal-framed casement
windows and one single light. To the ridge of the gabled roof is a
T-shaped chimney stack at left of centre with 3 flues. The right hand
gable end has a lean-to outshut at ground floor level and a 2-light window
to the first floor. The rear has an outshut to its whole length masking
both floors.
Interior: chamfered ceiling beams at ground floor level, with stepped run-
out end-stops and similarly moulded joists. Close studding to the walls
and wall posts. Staircase to far side of the chimney stack from the lobby.
Jowled wall posts to the first floor rooms and a cambered tie beams.
