Former Hull Trinity House almshouses, now offices. 1828, with
mid C20 alterations. By Charles Mountain the Younger. Painted
stucco, roof not visible. Plinth, and entablature with coped
parapet. 2 storeys; 13-window range. The end bays are framed
by giant Doric columns in antis, with metope and triglyph
friezes. On the first floor, thirteen 12-pane sashes, the
central one with moulded surround. Below, steps with low
balustrades to central stucco doorcase with double fielded
8-panel doors, flanked on either side by 5 windows. All these
openings have cornices on scroll brackets. Above the door, a
block inscribed "Carmelite House", and similar plain blocks
over the end windows.
