20/02/76 Glade End
(Formerly Listed as:

II

Incorrectly named Landend Cottage on OS map.
House. C17, C18/early C19. Timber-framed and weatherboarded,
peg-tiled roof. Single storey and attic. 4 window range, C20
wooden casements. Boarded door at N end. Central gabled dormer
window. External end chimney-stacks.
INTERIOR plan and construction imply 3 phases: (1) To S
2-celled house, door just S of centre with stair trap in line
at rear. (2) Addition to N of 2 bays with possible central
open truss. (3) Roof trusses raised and rebuilt to provide
attic space. Contemporary ground floor end chimneys and attic
gable windows. Probably then also removal of ground floor
division between (1) and (2) and construction of rear lateral
stack. C20 additions to rear, weatherboarded, wooden casements
and peg-tiled roof. No evidence of original heating remains.
