A pair of these drinking fountains were donated to the town in 1858 by R. Hardy Wrigley and only the Railway Bridge one still survives in the town as far as is known. The twin, originally sited on the corner of the Aughton Street Bridge at it's junction with Dyers Lane, was removed in the mid 20th century possibly,
