House, now houses. C17, with C18 addition, refronted mid C19.
Timber-frame and brick; stucco and render; Welsh slate roof;
C18 brick stacks and corner stack.
EXTERIOR: south front (Acacia House): stucco; 2 storeys and
attic; 3-window range: mid C19, 8/8 sashes under cambered
heads; probably C20 raking-dormer, with 6/6 casements. Central
entrance: glazed door, under deep moulded flat hood on turned
posts; to right, 1, to left, 2, 8/8 sashes, under cambered
heads. Right returned side: tier of C19 and C20 fenestration.
Rear: box framing with plaster.
Wing (now No. 163): east front displays C17 framing with
scattered C20 fenestration; 2 probably early C20
raking-dormers; C19 pantiled lean-to, to right, under
timber-framed gable.
INTERIOR: C18/C19 dogleg staircase with stick balusters and
swan neck rail. 2nd floor: plank doors; exposed beams and C17
timber-framing; jowled posts. 1st floor: 4-panel doors; C19
fireplaces with hob-grates; plank door; architraves to windows
and doors; C18, 2-panel door. Ground floor: chamfered ceiling
beams and simple plasterwork ceiling; 6-panel door; shutters
and architraves to windows; very fine C15 moulded stone
fireplace and lintel, 4 quatrefoils each with a centrally
placed blank shield; fireback. Cellar: plank door to stone
steps; stone lining; unhung 4-panel door.
