Water tower. Later C19. Polychrome brick; ashlar and coursed
rubble; lead(?) roof. 5 storeys and tank. Stone rubble base
has 2 fanlight headed casements, under polychrome brick
semicircular arches with ashlar springers and keyblocks; plank
door, and ashlar semicircular arch; battered ashlar plinth;
left (east) returned side has similar double doors, with
inserted C20 casement. North and south fronts have 3 tiers of
paired windows, each with polychrome semicircular brick arches
and central brick mullion; ashlar pilasters; cornice;
semicircular polychrome arches containing herringbone panels;
yellow brick tank-storey with machicolation and eaves-cornice;
arcaded parapet. East and west fronts have single tier of
similar windows, without central pediment.
