Range of 3 houses as one unit. C18 with C19 and C20
refurbishment and additions. Timber-framed and plastered with
ashlar lining, brick plinth, slate roof and red brick stacks.
U shaped plan of street range with E and W rear wings to N. 2
storeys.
Front S elevation: irregular 3 window 3 door range, hipped
roof with 2 stacks, one at W end and one towards E end
(between Nos 31 & 33). Ground floor, Nos 29 & 31 have window
to E of door, No 33 reversed. Doors all of 4 panes, original
at No.29 where flush and bead-moulded. Windows all recessed
into wall, each of 3 casements 6x4 panes. No.31 has cellar
light below. First floor windows flush with moulded
architraves, 2 sashes with glazing bars, 4x4 panes. Rear N
elevation: plastered street range with wing gables at each
end. To E, extending along path to Lower Square. Flush central
gable, windows earlier C20, centre range, ground floor boarded
door and mixed sash window of 3x1 panes plus 3x2 panes,
2-light casement window above, 2x2 panes, to W fixed casement
with glazing bars, 3x4 panes, stack behind. S wing, upper
2-light C20 window, simple lean-to shed below, E inner face,
lower 2-light and upper 3-light window. E wing, boarded door
with 2 single light windows, 2-light casements, second door in
lower extension to N which is weatherboarded, gable stack at
junction of units, second stack at N end. E side elevation to
Lower Square: end of street range with side of E wing then
lower wing extension, weatherboarded with stack at each end,
brick and cobble plinth. Ground floor, S-N, C20 sash window
with glazing bars, 4x4 panes, boarded door and 3-light
casement window. First floor, S-N, one single-light and one
2-light C20 casement windows then 2 similar sliding sash
windows 6x3 panes.
