2 houses, now office and dental surgery. Mid C18, with mid C19
and late C20 alterations. Brick with concrete tile roof, 2
gable and single ridge stacks. Incomplete first floor band,
second floor band, cogged and dentillated eaves, renewed coped
gables. 2 storeys plus attics; 11 window range. To left, six
12 pane sashes, to right 5 wooden cross casements, all segment
headed. Above, 6 gabled dormers with 2-light glazing bar
casements. Central round arched passage entrance. To left, a
moulded 4-panel door with overlight, flanked by two 12 pane
sashes, all segment headed. To right, mid C19 wooden shopfront
with enriched pilasters and dentillated cornice. Central
recessed glazed door flanked by single pane windows.
Interior of No 11 contains original dog-leg staircase, which rises
from ground floor to attic, with continuous string, turned balusters,
square newels and moulded hand rail. Original 2 panel doors and
exposed beams. Rear room to left has C16 linen-fold panelling,
probably resited, with stone 4-centred arch fireplace in wooden
fluted pilaster surround added in early C20 when this panelling
was installed. Attic has exposed original timber roof trusses with
purlins.
