Sloped terrace of linked semi-detached villas. c.1845. Yellow
stock bricks set in Flemish bond with stucco ground-floor
lined as stone and with stucco dressings; slate hipped roof
with projecting eaves and brick centre-stacks. Side-hall
entrance plan with staircase. Neoclassical style. Three
storeys, 2 windows each plus 1 window to 1st floor over
entrance bay (irregular in design & detail & many probably
added late C19/early C20.) Two-storey full-height stucco
pilasters (no. 41 with crude alterations with original details
removed; no. 45 with C20 pilasters & capitals and bases
removed) to upper floors carrying entablature with projecting
eaves cornice. Steps rise to paired recessed entrances in
outer bays; entrance with moulded cornice and separated by
stylised rounded pilaster with patera to top (nos. 25 & 47
entrances of different design and with plain piers); doorway
with flanking pilasters carrying corniced-head, rectangular
overlight (no. 27 with margin lights) and original 4 &
6-panelled doors (end houses with double entry door). 6/6
sashes throughout (nos. 25, 29, 31, 47 with C20 sashes; 1/1
sashes to ground & 1st floor of nos. 25 and to 1st floors nos.
29 & 47; 2/2 sashes to 2nd floor of nos. 29, 31 & 47; 4/4
sashes to 2nd floor nos. 25, 35 & 43) gauged brick flat arches
to upper floors. 1st floor stucco storey band & sashes with
cast iron window guards in floral pattern. Stucco entablature
with plain band, and projecting cornice. Original tile walkway
and porch flooring to no. 33. Attached iron railings to nos.
29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, & 43.
