Farmhouse. Early C18. Coursed squared marlstone and limestone rubble, both with
limestone-ashlar dressings; Welsh-slate roofs with ashlar and brick stacks. L
plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Marlstone main range has a symmetrical 5-window
front with ashlar plinth, storey band and pilaster strips, a central
segmental-arched doorway with moulded surround and double-stepped keyblock, and
has 7 segmental-headed 15-pane sashes with projecting keyblocks. Gable parapets
return over pilaster strips as cornices. Gable stacks are mostly rebuilt in
brick, but left stack retains an ashlar base and moulded string. 2-window rubble
range to right has 12-pane segmental-headed sashes to both floors. Rear of main
range has a tall leaded central stair window. Rubble section returns to rear as
a 4-window wing with renewed casements of 2 and 3 lights. Interior not
inspected.
