10/103 The Manor House Nursing Home

Farmhouse, now nursing home, probably incorporating parts of manor house.
Possibly C16/C17, remodelled and extended late C18/early C19. Rendered stone;
plain-tile roof with rendered brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys plus attic.
6-window front with moulded plinth, has tripartite sashes to both floors in bays
1, 4 and 6, and has 12-pane sashes elsewhere; panelled entrance with rectangular
overlight in bay 5 has a large C20 porch, and there is a secondary entrance
between bays 2 and 3. Roof has 3 stacks. Bays 1 and 2, which are both gabled to
rear may be the earliest. Rear has further 12-pane sashes. Interior: very large
open fireplace with chamfered bressumer. Formerly a large manor house belonging,
in the C17, to the Harrington family.
