The pretty little village of Warkton is just to the north of Kettering in Northamptonshire and is part of the Boughton Estate. The Church of St Edmund is a Grade I-listed building and dates from the 12th century, though the tower dates from the 15th century. The church is distinguished by its chancel, which was built shortly after 1749 to contain four large monuments to members of the Montagu family. Montagu is the family name of the Dukes of Buccleuch.

Simon Jenkins has selected this as one of England's Thousand Best Churches because of the Montagu mausoleum within the church.
