1857, by Francis and Francis (?) Ornate classical corner building of Portland
stone. 4 storeys plus basement and 2 storeyed mansard. 6 windows with return
of 4 windows. Order of rusticated Doric columns to ground storey with elaborate
arched entrances at either end crowned by segmental pediments. 1st floor windows
balustraded with engaged Corinthian columns and pediments. Windows above pilastered
and corniced with arches to 3rd floor. Large entablature with brackets to frieze
and pedimented stone lower dormers. Metal roof with cresting. Plainer 3 bay rear
wing facing onto Birchin Lane of brick and stone.
