Former stable block, converted and divided. Late C19. Sandstone rubble blocks
with some galleting, ashlar dressings and slate roofs. L-shaped plan around
entrance courtyard. Clockhouse to right:- Central gabled pavilion two storeys
and attics high with crowsteps on front and rear. Lead-covered cupola and
crowning weathervane above over clock face to front. Leaded, arched lancet
window under hood moulding. Large 4-centred, arched, two storey opening, now
boarded and glazed, with Y tracery leaded window on first floor and C20 plate-
glass door below. Gabled stone dormer on right hand return wall of pavilion
under diagonal apex finial. Octagonal stack to left of main cupola. Single
storey range-to right with shaped end gable containing quatrefoil panel; vent
lantern to centre of roof ridge. Glazing bar casements to left and right and
single storey range projecting at right angles. 1 window range to left end of
taller pavilion connects to:-
Hunting Lodge:- Two storeys with cross ridge stack to centre. Regular front with
two gabled, 3-light, stone through-eaves dormers on the first floor, two 4-light
leaded, stone-dressed windows below. Arched door to right in re-entrant angle of
two ranges. Single storey C20 two-window range to left connects to single storey
garage block attached to front of gabled range with quatrefoil panel in shaped
gable end.
