The Butchers

House and 3 cottages, now 2 houses, one with post office and one
with butcher's premises. C18 of 2 builds, altered early C19 and
later. Coursed squared stone, some of it herringbone-tooled;
pantile roof with stone coping and ridges; stone stacks. 2 storeys,
4 + 2 bays. The Post Office has 4-panel door with 3 windows to
left, the 2nd one formerly a door,two to right, and 4 on 1st floor;
The Butchers has door of 6 raised and fielded panels, 2 windows to
left, the 2nd one formerly a door, one window to right, and 2 on
1st floor. Bay 4 windows are small-pane metal-framed, but all
others are 12-pane side-sliding sashes; all have projecting stone
sills, and the ground-floor openings plain stone lintels. Eaves
band. Block kneelers. Shouldered and corniced stacks, at ends and
3 on ridge. Rear: various doors and windows, some with old lintels.
